Sorry if you are all sick of hearing my voice after a week of this AD campaign (I certainly am), but I am really excited about this new Conscious Thursdays series as a way to continue the positive momentum generated by the "Occupy"...

Interesting feedback... What would you suggest to make it better?
I would have maybe 3 or 4 different versions of a commercial. That way one version would not become saturated. up to 45 seconds seems right.
I would also limit the total non music time in any hour to x amount of minutes.
On song requests- a few songs are 9 minutes- so I can see how this would break the stride of the flow. The 9 minute songs are too long. So maybe off peak hours for those and shorten them...not everyone likes the few that overly push their own music- tho 1 or 2 songs one will usually sit thru.
The guitar commercial is decent. The chandler farm comercial is decent too. The sweet basil one is ok. The pow wow one has become nerve wracking, the solar fest the runner up.
So- in the future I would make up a few different commercials on one product = this way the products ads could rotate and not become over saturated.
Unfortunately - even online radio has bills to pay. I'd much rather listen to a rotation of commercials on a great online place such as this, than listen to and or watch all the freakin' political ads on TV or FM. Plus - you are supporting your local people, places and events. I think Dennis does a great job with Free Vermont Radio. I own a small local newspaper and without our local advertisers - we'd be nothing. It's a small price to pay for having great outlets such as these.
OK, LUVNHVT ... I guess your commercial is exempt from the annoyance comment as you have some really good music in the background!
I do agree with the sunsetcliffmeister, though, in that the commercials have become more frequent. And if there is one that is particularly annoying (ie SolarFest), or a group of long nasty songs, I too, tend to shut off the computer.
Not sure of the solution here, but I like the idea of a couple different versions of an ad, if they are going to be played that often ... but then that costs money too. If they would just do a good one to begin with, that would help! The SF ad is really a shame ... a really great festival, but I don't think this year's ad is going to pull new people there.
And yes, long songs really do suck. I cant bring myself to give a great tune that 5 star rating if is over 6 minutes long. Maybe just extending the rotation time between commercials (and artists, for that matter) would help all the way around.
Good luck Dennis. It's a fun station and a good station ... a great concept. Hope you are able to find that perfect balance.
